Secure your pc at Rs 2 per day

What if someone told you that you could super protect your computer with security solutions like firewall and pro-active anti-virus protection which can secure the confidential data residing on your PC or exchanged over the Internet, and all this at a nominal charge of Rs 2 per day! Sounds incredible? It is indeed possible now. Now you can beef up the security of your PC by opting for F-Secure's Internet security in one package. MTNL broadband customers in Mumbai and Delhi can take advantage of this low-cost security pack now.

F-Secure, in collaboration with state-run telecom firm MTNL, will offer this PC protection pack to all MTNL subscribers, at a price of Rs 2 for the basic pack. The pack includes anti-virus, firewall and spyware protection. To get extra features such as parental locks, users need to subscribe to the full pack that costs a bit more (around Rs 80 per month).

"Since the cost of the pack is based on usage per day, the user doesn't have to worry about the annual charges and hassles of licence renewal," says Venu Palakirti, regional director, F-Secure. This Internet security pack incorporates F-Secure's DeepGuard technology, which uses
"in-the-cloud" computing to provide instant protection against new threats.

For those who may be wondering if this would work on their pirated OS (yes, we all know that not everyone has a licenced OS), the answer is Yes, quips Palakirti. Commenting on the potential reach of this offer, Palakriti says, "With a customer base approaching 1 million, this facility could be availed by home users as well as small and medium businesses (SMBs)."

F-Secure has been present in the Indian market for the last five years and has partnered with Internet service providers, such as Tata, Reliance, Sify, etc. This is F-Secure's first venture with a government organisation in India.
